I learned how to play some guitar chords which was very cool and being able to play notes on the guitar. It was very hard for me to be able to play the A chord on the guitar, but after a few days I got better at playing it. I am very proud of the fact that I was able to play the chords on the guitar.

Content (The WHAT)

Rating: OK  – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5  – HIGHLY ENGAGED

Rating: 4

What interested you most about the material in this class?

I liked the videos we watched at the first week of School of Rock. Learning how to play guitar was good to do. I wanted to learn how to play another instrument, so guitar was pretty cool to be able to learn.

What was the most surprising, satisfying thing you learned that you didn’t know before?

Well I didn’t know how to play any guitar. That’s the major difference.

Process (The HOW)

Rating: OK  – 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5  – HIGHLY ENGAGED

Rating: 4

What did you like most about the class structure, ya’know the day-to-day work? Why?

I like using this blog and having the class page to go to and use that for finding the Zoom links, videos, the blog outline. It is a vey good structure and made this class good.

What didn’t you like most about the class structure?

The capitalcometech web page was very useful to find where to go and for the Zooms, and for the padlet.

If you took the class again, what would you change?

If I took this class again. I probably wouldn’t change anything, the layout of how things went was good.

PRACTICE ROOM (GUITAR LESSONS)

I practiced some guitar and watched some videos. I watched Justin’s video on the practice routine and he recomends that you play 20 minutes a day at least 4 times a week, and then switch between chords in one minute, and then practice on playing songs. I also watched the video on when it is time to move on from lesson 1.

CONTROL ROOM (RECORDING & MIXING)

I am working on one song to try and complete by the end of the course. So far I have 6 instruments that I am using vanilla, visionare, danger harsh funker, electric grand dream, clavinet, and another electric grand dream.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

I learned that when trying to make a song on Soundtrap it is a very good idea to to turn some instruments down and up in volume. So than when it is time to listen to it, you can hear the lead soloist instrument instead of a loud background instrument.

Leading by example

  1. Place your project idea, the description, and the outcome here: bit.ly/2ZxekGt

I would like to work on learning how to play the guitar better by learning a new chord each day, and then recording my progress. I also will make a song on Soundtrap and take a screen recording at the end of each day of what progress I have made.

  1. Write the same thing above these instructions about under the LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY heading
  2. Delete Mr. Le Duc’s instructions – yes, these instructions – yes the instructions you are reading right now!

PRACTICE ROOM (GUITAR LESSONS)

I learned a D chord on the guitar and played it on the guitar.

CONTROL ROOM (RECORDING & MIXING)

I have made a song in Soundtrap. I used the electric grand dream piano, terminal drums, pressure piano, and varsity. I used these instruments in my musical composition.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

I learned that the A chord is really hard to do becasue you need to fit 3 fingers between two fretts. But after some pracctice with it and swithing to the D chord, the A chord was much better to do and sounded pretty decent.

I knew a few o those words and meaning but most of them I didn’t know what they were. I knew what a cannon and intro was, but the others I had no clue of. I had no idea that a dscant was a melody that played over a already existing tune.

I definetly need work on compositions, but I was able to play a track and and then put another track behind or infront of the already existing one.

WHAT I LEARNED and PROBLEMS I SOLVED

I had some trouble on the MIDI file but I solved the problem. I was looking in the wrong spot to find it. I learned that bass lines weren’t alway around.  That was something I didn’t know before, and that the tonic note is at the bottom of the chord.
